XQuarry 4×4 Night GPS Challenge 20.05.2023

What is it: The XQuarry 4×4 GPS Night Challenge is a drive challenge for off-road vehicles which also requires GPS navigation as well as problem solving. This is a fun event and not a race, yet the team who completes all tasks in the shortest time will win.

Date: 20^th May 2023
Time: 5:00pm start – challenge cut-off time 8:30pm > closing at 10pm
Location: XQuarry Park in Mleiha

What to bring: Your 4×4, recovery gear, GPS navigation device, radio

Who can join: Everyone with a capable 4×4. You must be a team of 2 or 3 cars – you can have passengers in your car but for the challenges only 4-6 people are allowed to participate.

Fee: 2 cars per team 299AED till 15.05.2023 and after 399AED
3 cars per team 449AED till 15.05.2023 and after 599AED
Registration is limited to 20 teams only

What’s included: free water, coffee and tea during the event > please bring your own food, we will only setup two big BBQ you can use as well as enough seating in the event tent.

Winner Team: 1 Trophy and 2x Offroad Zone Vouchers each AED 1.000
Second Team: 1 Trophy and 2x recovery ropes
Third Team: 1 Trophy and 2x waterproof and shock resistant storage cases

4×4 Night Drive GPS Challenge Anticipated Schedule > this is just an indicator what you can expect and not the final schedule

Briefing 5:30 pm

Challenge start 6:00 pm
all teams will get a paper with the coordinates of the 4 challenges. Each team can decide the best route to reach the 4 points and complete the challenges – you might want to consider day light and where other teams go. In case two teams arrive at a challenge the second team arriving has to wait until the first team complete the challenge.

Challenge 1. Sand Digging > digging is an important capability off-roaders need in the desert. We will test and time your skills.

Challenge 2. Sunset / Night Photo > take a photo with our special prop at this challenge and post it on your Instagram page. The photo with the most likes will win. Cut off is for the likes is 8pm

Challenge 3. Lost and found > never drop any small item in the desert because it will be hard to ever find it again. In this challenge you need to find 3 hidden items to complete the challenge.

Challenge 4. Make a fire > sounds easier than it is because you will not be allowed to use matches or a lighter. We will provide you a fire-steel and other suppliers to start a fire. You are only allowed to use what we provide.

We will time each challenge as well as the time how quickly you will complete all task and return to the start/finish. You are not allowed to split up and all cars need to arrive together to each of the challenges and back. In case you get stuck, and need help we have a sweep team on ready.

Cut-off time to return to start/finish will be 8:30pm

Announcement of winners will be after evaluating all timings at approx. 9:00pm

Park will close at 10:00pm

You are welcome and encourage to have your dinner/BBQ at XQuarry. You need to bring your own food.
