4×4 Course Experience  – for those who have some experience on newbie drives.  Primary focus is an audience that would like to further their knowledge in a structured way.

The Experience Course builds on the Discover course and assumes you have a fundamental knowledge of off-road driving including what pressure to let tyres down to, the right gears to be in, and what all the fancy buttons do .  Perhaps you have driven in the desert a few times with friends, or with a club, and are frustrated that you hold up the convoy.  Or you have some good experience on rocks, but not on sand, or vice versa.  This course is focused on pushing you safely out of your comfort zone so you really see what your vehicle, and yourself, are capable of.

Itinerary

  • 30 minute training room session to cover the basics.
  • 1 hour practical session inside the off-road park to put into practice what you have learned under the guidance of our instructor.
  • 2 hour session in the desert where you put into practice what you have learned under the guidance of our instructor.
  • Several short breaks where water, soft drinks, coffee, and snacks are provided.

Description

 Experience – 4×4 Course II

The Experience Course gets you out of your comfort zone safely so you truly understand what you and your car is capable of.  Remember, the biggest impact on a vehicle’s capability is the driver, and that is what this course is all about.  You will be on side angles you think should not be possible, and perhaps wonder why your vehicle has a wheel 1 metre in the air but still able to move forward!  In the dunes, we will show the many ways to cross sharp ridges and surf the dunes, as well as read the sand to navigate safely.

Any stock 4×4 is more than suitable for the course. You also don’t need to be afraid of any damages to the car even if it is brand new, if the instructions are followed there will be zero damages (we have a clean track record of several thousand cars in the park without any damage).

You don’t need any off-roading equipment and we even recommend to only buy gear after the course because you will know how to spend your money the best way.

The following topics are covered:
